Sandbox Interactive is the ambitious game development studio behind the award-winning game Albion Online. The game is the first true cross-platform MMO, and is playable on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android with more than 350.000 daily players and over 2 million monthly visitors on our website. We started as a small independent group of experienced gaming professionals in 2012, and now employ an international team of more than 100 people. Your Game

We’re looking for a Senior Level Designer to help shape the ever-evolving world of our long-standing MMORPG. In this role, you’ll work closely with teams across art, design, audio, and engineering to craft immersive environments—both by designing new locations and enhancing existing ones. From early layout planning and the development of modular building blocks to detailed level dressing, your creativity and design sensibility will contribute to delivering memorable in-game experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of key level design features and driving them from concept to final implementation
• Designing and building level layouts based on game design specification
• Developing creative solutions within the constraints of gameplay design, technical requirements, and production timelines
• Collaborating with Concept and Environment artists to develop required level assets
• Performing level dressing using existing asset libraries, ensuring a good balance of aesthetic appeal and gameplay clarity in collaboration with other departments
• Maintaining and updating our extensive game world to adapt to gameplay changes and meet modern artistic standard
• Supporting the level design team by helping to organize workflows and acting as a trusted point of contact across disciplines

Your Talent

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in game development, with a focus on level design
• Well-developed spatial awareness and a refined eye for layout composition and environmental aesthetics
• Problem-solving mindset and the ability to take initiative
• Proficiency with 3D editors and level design tools
• A deep passion for video games—especially MMORPGs or RPGs—and a solid understanding of their design principles
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Unity 3D and familiarity with isometric camera perspectives
• Knowledge of XML and experience using game design tools
• An artistic background or a strong interest in visual design
