Engineer II (Backend) - Vendor Growth

Job Description

We are on the lookout looking for a Backend Software Engineer to build scalable services and APIs that power Delivery Hero’s global platforms. You will design and develop reliable backend systems used by millions of users while collaborating with product, data, and frontend teams to deliver impactful solutions.

As part of our Vendor Team, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of thousands of restaurants, shops, and local businesses. Your contributions will empower vendors with advanced tools to manage their operations, boosting their visibility and reach. Every feature you help build will create growth opportunities for businesses of all sizes, strengthening Delivery Hero’s ecosystem and impact.

In this role you will,

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

• Build reliable systems that handle high traffic and large data volumes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience building backend systems in production environments.

• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java or Go (Golang).

• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

• Experience designing API-based services and working with distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

• Familiarity with microservices architectures and event-driven systems.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, or similar.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or modern cloud-native infrastructure.

 

Nice to Have

• Experience working with data pipelines or data processing systems.

• Familiarity with modern development practices that leverage AI-assisted coding tools.

• Experience with Python for data-related services.
