Product Engineer Intern (m/f/d)

Join ginkgo for a 4-6 month internship and help build the future of financial benefits. You’ll work closely with our founding team - who bring experience and personal networks from Trade Republic, Moss, Pectus, Raisin, Growney, FINN & BCG.

Aufgaben

Your role

You’ll gain hands-on experience in building and scaling product-led solutions in a fast-moving B2B environment. Working directly with our founding team, you’ll take ownership of developing lightweight technical products and prototypes that help users understand complex topics like taxation, pensions, and the German social security system. You’ll work at the intersection of product and engineering — using modern AI tools, no-code/low-code platforms, and scripting to design and build useful, educational, and scalable experiences. Your tasks will include:

• Work closely with product and business teams to define problems and deliver quick MVPs — from AI-powered explainers to onboarding flows or financial planning tools.
• Prototype and ship user-facing microtools (with or without AI) that turn complex rules or datasets into simple, actionable product experiences.
• Use AI, scripting, and automation to build internal tools that support product development, data analysis, and go-to-market strategy.
• Build and maintain interactive calculators and visualizations related to the German social security system (e.g. statutory pension forecasts, bAV models, tax scenarios, net income under different insurance setups).
• Research and break down regulatory systems, such as Einkommensteuer, GKV/PKV, or retirement tax treatment - and translate them into usable logic and tools.
• Support UX experiments by building and testing variations of product features quickly and evaluating user feedback or usage data.

Qualifikation

Your profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree,
• Self-driven builder who’s excited to ship and iterate quickly - no formal engineering background needed,
• Previous experience in consulting, VC, startups etc.,
• Excellent analytical and communication skills,
• Entrepreneurial mindset and drive to make an impact,
• Native-level fluency in German and strong English skills.
