The Fraunhofer IPK in Berlin, as one of the institutes of the Fraunhofer Society, conducts applied research and development for the entire range of industrial tasks – from product development to the production process and comprehensive management of companies.

In the field of production machinery and plant management, solutions for plant and process automation as well as new software are developed. Another focus is on data collection and analysis in the context of machine tools and production.

Support our team in the development of software in the field of generative AI and become part of the IPK as soon as possible!

What you will do

• Support in the design and implementation of digital assistance systems
• Collaboration in the development of AI algorithms (LLM, fine-tuning, RAG, AI agents, embeddings)
• Literature research on the topic of AI

What you bring to the table

• Studies in Computer Science, Information Technology in Mechanical Engineering/Computational Engineering Sciences, Physical Engineering Sciences, or related fields
• Strong team skills and the ability to work independently and responsibly
• Interest and initial experience in software development with Python, Langchain, Langgraph, Chaintlit, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks
• Experience in developing backend and/or frontend applications through initial projects is desirable
• At least four months of mandatory internship according to your internship regulations
• Initial experience with database systems and API interfaces is an advantage
• Proactive approach, independent and structured working style, and interest in scientific work

Remuneration is based on the federal guidelines for internship remuneration.

The duration of the internship depends on the requirements of your university.

The weekly working time is 39 hours (full-time).
