Working Student - Finance (m/f/d)

About the Role

This is a hands-on finance working student position embedded within a lean, high-growth EdTech company. You'll work directly alongside the Director of Finance & People, supporting core financial operations while helping build AI-enhanced workflows and intelligent dashboards that strengthen the company's financial infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Support day-to-day finance operations and keep cross-functional topics moving alongside senior leadership.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate with external auditors.

• Help ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

• Prepare monthly reports, maintain trackers, and carry out ad hoc data pulls and analyses for operational controlling.

• Identify and pilot opportunities to automate manual finance workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations.

• Support coordination with tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers.

• Act as a bridge between the Finance & People team and functions such as Growth and Engineering.

• Contribute to building intelligent dashboards and KPI trackers as part of a broader digital finance backbone.

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• Available for approximately 20 hours per week with a preferred commitment of 6–12 months.

• Strong analytical skills and solid Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables); comfortable turning messy data into clear answers.

• Fluent in German and English, written and spoken — German fluency is required.

• Comfortable using AI tools daily and enthusiastic about automating workflows; familiarity with low-code platforms is a plus.

• Basic understanding of German accounting practices is a plus; curiosity about IFRS is welcome.

• Prior experience in finance, consulting, or a startup environment is a plus but not required.

• Proactive, self-driven, and pragmatic — you have a builder mentality and thrive working directly with leadership.

• Must be eligible to work in Germany without visa sponsorship.
