What you’ll do

• You take full ownership of the risk of our Enpal Energy portfolio – and thus of the risk exposure arising from the energy assets and electricity contracts of our customers.

• You build and operate a structured hedging setup – from strategy and structuring through to trade execution, with a strong focus on reducing price and volume risks.

• You develop and run our HPFC models (0–18 months), thereby providing the foundation for smart, data-driven hedging decisions.

• You continuously monitor portfolio risk, track relevant KPIs, and ensure that risks are transparent across the organization.

• You act as the central interface between Trading & Risk and Sales/Pricing, ensuring that risks are properly integrated into our pricing logic.

• You build and develop a small, high-performing, quant-oriented team – setting strong standards in risk discipline, ownership, and execution excellence.

What you’ll bring

• Several years of experience in power trading, hedging, or electricity/renewables portfolio and risk management.

• Degree in Financial Mathematics or a quantitative/scientific field.

• Strong understanding of hedging instruments (e.g. futures, shapes, options, PPAs) and the ability to independently design and implement structured hedging programs.

• Strong analytical skill set: confident working with HPFC models, market data, and risk analysis methods such as Monte Carlo simulations.

• Experience in fundamental power price and market modeling, ideally also cross-commodity modeling, is a plus.

• Entrepreneurial mindset: you enjoy building processes, analytics, and reporting structures from scratch – ideally in early-stage or fast-growing environments.

• Leadership mindset: you want to lead and develop a small team while maintaining high standards in risk discipline and execution quality.

• EEX Trader Certificate is a strong plus.
