• Advanced Materials – Sustainable alternatives replacing pollution-heavy inputs
• Waste Cascading – Transforming industrial byproducts into high-value resources
• Carbon Capture & Utilization (CCU) – Monetizing CO₂ into fuels, chemicals and materials

To support the overall development of Marvelous and work alongside our GP Chris Heyer and Venture Partner Christian Schad you will be the backbone of our fund’s financial operations.

Tasks

As a Finance Manager , you’ll work directly with our GP Chris Heyer and VP Christian Schad. You’ll oversee liquidity, compliance, reporting, and governance processes for all legal entities, acting as a trusted partner to investors, service providers, and internal teams. This role offers a clear development path with the option to evolve into a CFO position.

Key Responsibilities

• Cash Flow Management
  Oversee cash flow for all legal entities; ensure liquidity for investments and operations; manage invoice creation and distribution.
• Investor Reporting
  Compile and deliver regular investor materials: side letters, quarterly updates, and ad-hoc data requests.
• ESG Reporting
  Prepare and develop the fund’s Environmental, Social, and Governance report.
• Regulatory Compliance & Accounting
  Coordinate with fund administrators and accountants on annual accounts, regulatory reporting, and tax filings.
• Investment Onboarding
  Lead administrative processes and portfolio data management for new investments.
• Service Provider Management
  Manage relationships with fund administrators, accountants, legal counsel, tax advisors, and external auditors.
• Audit Liaison
  Act as primary contact for external auditors during management company audits; facilitate audit planning, document preparation, and timely resolution of inquiries.
• Process & Tool Optimization
  Drive projects to improve finance department tools, systems, and team workflows.
• Valuation & Portfolio Monitoring
  Assist in portfolio valuation and ongoing performance reporting and monitoring.
• Technology Implementation
  Evaluate and implement new systems to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function.
• AML Compliance
  Ensure Anti-Money Laundering documentation is current and inspection-ready.
• Governance & Internal Controls
  Contribute to building internal governance, compliance frameworks, and process documentation.

Requirements

We’re looking for a highly motivated professional who is ready to learn quickly, take bold initiative, and make a meaningful contribution in a dynamic early-stage venture capital environment.

Your Qualifications & Experience

• Several years of hands-on experience in VC fund administration or comparable investment structures
• In-depth knowledge of cash management , financial reporting , regulatory compliance , and tax-related matters
• Proven track record in ESG and sustainability reporting
• Proficiency in fund administration platforms and accounting software
• Strong project management skills and a mindset for process optimization
• Excellent analytical , organizational , and communication capabilities
• Full professional fluency in English and German , both written and spoken
• A team player with high levels of initiative, accountability, and ownership
