About the role

As an Android Engineer , you will play a key role in shaping the Android experience across Bonial’s products in Germany and France. Your contributions will directly impact millions of users relying on high-traffic apps such as KaufDA, MeinProspekt , and Bonial . Working as part of a cross-functional team, you’ll design, build, and refine user-facing features while ensuring performance, stability, and high-quality standards across our mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to conceptualize, evaluate, and implement new features and modern software architectures.

• Develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks with a strong focus on maintainability and scalability.

• Write and maintain comprehensive test coverage, including unit tests, instrumentation tests on real devices, and performance/stability tests.

• Perform code reviews and proactively contribute to improving our CI/CD pipelines.

• Work with modern developer tools and cloud services such as AWS, Firebase, GitHub , and SauceLabs

• Apply modern architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM , MVI ) and contribute to clean, well-structured software design.

• Explore and advance test automation and continuous integration practices to increase team efficiency and app reliability.

• Build and evolve apps following Lean/Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban), ensuring continuous delivery of value.

• Ensure app stability, performance, and scalability to support high-traffic international products.

Experience:

- 2-4 years of hands-on Android development using Kotlin (Java experience is a plus).

-Experience with Jetpack Compose , or strong motivation to grow into it.

-Familiarity with Gradle and executing builds via the command line.

-Good understanding of RESTful APIs , and JSON.

-Experience working in a shared codebase with fellow Android developers.

Engineering Expertise:

-Good grasp of domain modeling and modern Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, MVI).

-Understanding of engineering best practices: PR workflows, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, clean code principles.

-Ability to make informed technical decisions aligned with product and business goals, with support from senior engineers as needed.

Team Player:

-Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

-Proactive attitude with a sense of ownership and openness to feedback.

Bonus Points:

-Experience working on large-scale or high-traffic products.

-Interest in emerging mobile trends and continuously improving engineering practices.

-Familiarity with the Linux or macOS command line environment.
