Sales Manager / Business Development (m/f/d)
German Orbital Systems (GOS) specializes in end-to-end CubeSat development, delivering flight-ready spacecraft from system engineering and integration to mission support. We provide turnkey CubeSat platforms, satellite subsystems, and aerospace engineering services for commercial, institutional, and governmental customers across the European and international space market.
As part of our growth strategy in the European space industry and the NewSpace small satellite sector, we are expanding our commercial team in Berlin and are looking for a Sales Manager (m/f/d) with Business Development focus to actively shape revenue growth in the CubeSat and small satellite sector.
You will own the full sales cycle — from market identification and tender qualification to contract negotiation and deal closure — and play a key role in strengthening our position within the aerospace and defense ecosystem.
Tasks
- Lead international B2B sales of CubeSat platforms, small satellite systems, and aerospace solutions
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue public tenders, RFPs, and procurement opportunities with space agencies, research institutions, defense-related entities, and private aerospace companies
- Drive business development activities within the European space and defense market
- Coordinate and prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering, finance, and legal teams
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new CubeSat platforms and satellite subsystems
- Conduct market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify high-potential technologies, mission opportunities, and emerging NewSpace trends
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the aerospace and satellite ecosystem
- Represent GOS at industry conferences, trade fairs, and customer meetings. Support strategic partnerships and long-term customer development
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Sales or Business Development within the space or aerospace industry
- Experience with CubeSat manufacturing, small satellite platforms, aerospace projects, or government/defense space programs
- Hands-on experience preparing and submitting technical proposals and tenders
- Strong understanding of the CubeSat lifecycle and international space market
- Experience in B2B technical sales and complex contract negotiations
- Solid knowledge of procurement processes and tender management in institutional or defense-related environments is a plus
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Fluent English required (written and spoken). German and additional language skills are considered an advantage.
