We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Master’s thesis, focusing on discount planning and optimization.

What awaits you?

• Review and structure relevant literature on discount planning and elasticity estimation.
• Estimate discount elasticities and formulate a complex real-world optimization problem in the context of discount pricing.
• Design a solution approach that scales across a large product portfolio and multiple international markets.
• Document your methodology, implementation, and results and contribute to a high-quality thesis and internal project report.

What should you bring?

• Studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical fields.
• Interest in and initial experience with causal inference, operations research, and machine learning fundamentals.
• Advanced knowledge of Python programming and experience with numerical libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pyomo, Gurobipy, or TensorFlow.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and collaborative working style in an interdisciplinary team.
• Fluent English.
