Senior Product Manager - Identity Platform (IAM)
Shine exists to help freelancers and small business owners reclaim the joy of working for themselves.
Running a business shouldn't mean drowning in financial admin - it should be inspiring and rewarding. Our app brings banking, invoicing, accounting and admin together in one place, so entrepreneurs can focus on what matters most: growing their business and enjoying the freedom of working for themselves.
We're a multicultural team of over 400 people across France, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands. By bringing together leading European fintechs like Shine, Kontist and Tellow, we've built a single, intuitive platform designed for simplicity, speed, and accuracy - backed by local, award-winning support.
Your hiring experience matters
Just as we respect our customers' time, we respect yours. Your experience with Shine should feel simple, transparent and genuinely supportive.
If this sounds like somewhere you want to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
The Platform IAM team at Shine
The Platform IAM team at Shine provides the identity and access management foundation that other product teams build on. Sitting within the Platform group, the team works as a small EM–PM–engineering unit, focusing on scalable, secure services. The Team partners closely with stream‑aligned teams across banking, invoicing, accounting and more to unify logins and simplify integrations. Most of the team is based in Copenhagen and Germany, collaborating in a highly cross‑functional, remote‑friendly setup.
Your role as a Senior Product Manager –
Platform IAM
This is a rare chance to build the identity foundation at pan-European scale from scratch. As Senior Product Manager for the IAM Team, you own the identity and access management platform that every Shine product relies on. Your work turns multiple separate logins and user models into one secure, coherent system that works across products and markets.
Your mission is to make it simple and safe for every user and organisation to sign up, log in and access Shine – while giving our product teams a reliable identity platform so they can move faster without reinventing security and compliance every time.
IAM is a foundational platform capability that underpins trust, product cohesion and scalability across Shine’s ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Security and Compliance, working closely with stream‑aligned product teams that consume your identity services.
You will work closely with many stakeholders throughout the organization: Engineering, Security, Legal, Compliance as the product teams integrating IAM into their products.
Your responsibilities will include:
Own the IAM product vision and roadmap – from unified login and signup flows to identity models for users and organisations across products and markets.
Operate as a platform PM – define clear value propositions the team, design reusable capabilities, and ensure IAM is treated as a product, not “just” an internal service.
Define and evolve authentication and identity standards – covering areas like login, signup, MFA, SSO, identity lifecycle, and access control patterns together with Engineering and Security.
Drive adoption across product teams – provide stable APIs, events and integration patterns, improve documentation, reduce integration friction, and coordinate migrations from legacy and acquired systems.
Balance security, usability, and scalability – prioritise initiatives that reduce identity fragmentation, improve reliability, and enable faster onboarding of new products and markets.
Job located in Copenhagen; Berlin; Amsterdam; Paris with possibility of two remote working days per week
About you
Strong product management experience in platform or infrastructure-like domains (e.g. IAM, authentication, security, developer platforms, or similar).
Solid understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (e.g. identity modelling, SSO, MFA, OAuth/OIDC, access control), and the ability to work closely with engineers on complex systems.
Proven experience driving adoption of platform capabilities across multiple teams, including stakeholder management with Engineering, Security, and Product.
Clear, structured product thinking – you define problems and outcomes precisely, use metrics to measure success, and can navigate trade-offs between standardisation and team flexibility.
A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset – you communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and enjoy enabling other teams to succeed rather than being the “front-stage” product owner.
What success looks like
After 12–18 months in the role, success looks like:
The new Identity solution successfully supports our business strategy of bringing multiple products with core business functionality together in one place for customers
Product teams integrating IAM report high satisfaction, thanks to clear APIs, documentation and predictable behaviour.
New products and markets can be onboarded faster because identity and access are solved once at the platform level.
