What you’ll build

As a Senior UX Design Specialist (f/m/d), you'll join our cross-functional design team to enhance experiences for developers, architects, and platform administrators working with CLI tools and automation workflows. You'll create and validate design concepts for command-line interfaces, automation frameworks, and AI-powered development tools.

 

Your tasks may include:

• Design efficient CLIs and terminal experiences developers love.
• Create user journeys, concepts, and prototypes using AI
• Plan and run user research and usability tests with developers and administrators; translate findings into design improvements.
• Establish design patterns for automation workflows, CLI interactions, and dev tool integrations.
• Ensure designs meet SAP's UX consistency standards while pushing boundaries in developer experience.
• Collaborate with UX colleagues, PMs, and developers to boost developer productivity.
• Champion AI-enhanced design methodologies, sharing techniques that accelerate work without compromising quality.
• Foster a user-centered, insight-driven culture by sharing insights and advocating for developer feedback in decisions.

 

What you bring 

• 5+ years in UX design with proven expertise designing for technical users, CLI tools, automation, or developer products. 
• Track record of using AI to accelerate design — prototyping, research synthesis, design systems, or workflow automation, with concrete examples. 
• Deep grasp of developer workflows, CLIs, scripting, and automation patterns; you speak developers' language. 
• Strong interaction design skills, translating complex technical requirements into intuitive experiences. 
• Experience running user research with developers, DevOps, and sysadmins, turning findings into design improvements. 
• Proficiency in Figma and AI-powered design tools. 
• Familiarity with SAP Design System or similar is a plus. 
• Excellent English; German a plus. 
• Portfolio showcasing technical/CLI/developer design work is mandatory.
