Senior DevOps Engineer (all genders)

You're more than a DevOps; you're a builder, a problem-solver, and a continuous learner who thrives on shipping impactful products. You'll contribute to our infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in making sure it is stable, reliable and optimised.

What you will do

• IaC: Manage low and high level infrastructure fully GitOps driven on a kubernetes native stack. We use a combination of Flux2, Crossplane and various 1st and 3rd party kubernetes operators to achieve this.

• Kubernetes: Manage and scale microservices architectures running on Kubernetes. Help other teams with app deployments.

• Cluster maintenance: Manage kubernetes clusters with kops and ClusterAPI.

• AWS Cloud: Manage cloud infrastructure using Crossplane and Terraform.

• CI Pipelines : Design and maintain efficient pipelines for fast and reliable releases using Github Actions

• Telemetry : Set up and refine observability tools to track health and performance of our apps. We use Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger and Pyroscope.

• Troubleshooting : Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and system recovery.

• Optimizations : We continuously optimize our platform. This includes cost optimization, security improvements and improved developer experience.

Our ideal candidate

• Kubernetes expert: You bring at least three years work experience with Kubernetes. You know kubernetes inside out.

• Ownership: You see our platform as the product for our developers and users. You can take ownership of things you build and deploy.

• Kafka: Our Microservice architecture uses Kafka at its core. Ideally, you have Kafka knowledge. We use the strimzi kafka operator to manage our kafka clusters.

• Controller development : We have various 1st party kubernetes controllers and other tooling which is written in Go. Ideally you bring experience with maintaining and creating kubernetes controllers from scratch.

• Practical Mindset: You are committed to building things that are reliable, explainable, and usable by others.
