M&A Advisor / Origination

EquiMatch is an AI-powered M&A origination platform. Private equity firms come to us with an investment thesis; we turn it into a live pipeline of acquisition targets - identifying companies that fit the mandate, reaching their owners directly, and vetting genuine interest before making a warm introduction.

We're hiring our first CRO to own revenue end to end, bringing sales and M&A origination under one leader.

TASKS

M&A (origination)

• Own the seller-origination engine end to end.
• Define the qualification criteria and "accepted introduction" standards that protect match quality.
• Turn outreach and vetting into a codified, repeatable system rather than individual effort.

Strategy

• Serve as part of the company's leadership team, contributing to company-wide decisions and bringing revenue strategy to the board.
• Set the overall revenue plan and own the top-line and gross-margin targets for the company.
• Connect sales and origination into one operating model, so what we sell is what we can deliver and deliver on what we’re selling.

RevOps and analytics

• Own forecasting and pipeline coverage, and report forecast accuracy and corrective actions.
• Define and monitor the KPI framework for both the sales funnel and the outreach/origination funnel.
• Track outreach health and deliverability, response times, time-to-teaser, and time-to-intro.
• Define experiments to improve conversion, cycle time, and seller and client satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

• 10+ years in revenue leadership, with 3+ years in a CRO, VP Revenue, or equivalent role owning a company-wide top-line target.
• Proven track record selling high-value, complex services to private equity firms or other institutional financial buyers.
• Demonstrated experience in M&A, corporate development, or deal origination — either as a principal, advisor, or commercial owner of an origination function.
• Experience operating in international/global markets across multiple regions.

• A track record of building commercial and operational systems from the ground up — GTM strategy, pricing, sales processes, and RevOps — not only running existing ones.
• Experience scaling a revenue org from founder-led selling to a repeatable, measurable motion.
• Strong command of forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM-driven reporting, with the ability to make a team adopt it.
• Fluency in the quality standards of M&A advisory work (teasers, dossiers, buyer introductions).
• Excellent communication skills and an institutional, precise style suited to the private equity market.
