simpleshow started in 2008 as a media agency and has become the international market leader for the professional development of explainer videos. Using sophisticated storytelling methodology, the explanatory experts at simpleshow help make the increasingly complicated world understandable for everyone.

Today, simpleshow is part of D:ID, a global ecosystem of AI-powered video solutions. Over the last years, our product & engineering teams have built simpleshow.com – a web application that empowers users to create and customize explainer videos almost fully automatically based on a text script. The platform is used worldwide by enterprise clients and individual creators alike.

To take as much work as possible off our users’ shoulders, we integrate modern AI services from different providers (including OpenAI) and combine them with our own innovations. We continuously refine the user experience with usability testing and a contemporary UX/UI design system, so that creating high-quality videos feels intuitive, fast, and even a bit magical.

About the role and your tasks

We are looking for a motivated (Senior) Fullstack Developer to join us.
As part of this amazing team, you will contribute to the advancement of the simpleshow video maker through your ideas and knowledge. If you are curious, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about your job, we would love to get to know you!

You will join a relaxed and fun team that enjoys coding outside of the office and often meets for drinks after work. Working for the dev team of simpleshow video maker offers a great deal of freedom, allowing you to arrange your working hours to suit your needs and work remotely when necessary.

✅ Design and develop new features for simpleshow.com end-to-end together with your team (from database and APIs up to the user interface)
✅ Build a long-term, scalable system in an agile environment
✅ Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Design & QA to develop next-generation features and packages
✅ Help shape our roadmap with your knowledge and ideas
✅ Drive technical improvements on architectural & structural levels – in both backend and frontend
✅ Take initiative for new ideas and projects and drive them from concept to implementation
✅ Act as a role model and mentor, sharing your fullstack expertise with the team

This is your skillset

✔️ 3+ years of experience building scalable web applications (backend & frontend)
✔️ Previous leading experience is considered a plus (Technical Lead, Lead-Dev, mentoring)
✔️ Hands-on experience with AWS or other public clouds (deployment & configuration)
✔️ Excellent Java (Java 11+) and Spring / Spring Boot (incl. Hibernate) skills
✔️ Solid experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Vue or similar)
✔️ Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB) as well as search and caching solutions (e.g. ElasticSearch, Redis)
✔️ Strong in architecture and design decisions (patterns, availability, scaling, UX implications)
✔️ You value clean, maintainable, extensible code and a well-structured architecture – in frontend and backend
✔️ High standards in code quality, reviews, testing and CI/CD processes
