Role Overview

We’re looking for a Machine Learning Research Engineer with a deep understanding of the audio modality, a strong track record of developing and deploying custom deep learning models, as well as designing specialized data pipelines, and the drive to create real-world impact beyond academic benchmarks. Join a small, focused team building the core algorithms behind our products, where you'll take full ownership of the machine learning lifecycle. The role is on-site in Berlin.

Tasks

• Model development & deployment : Design, implement, train, evaluate, optimize, and deploy deep learning models for speech enhancement related audio problems.
• Data-centric machine learning : Build, curate, and refine custom datasets and complex audio simulation pipelines for training and evaluation to understand and improve model performance for real-world production use-cases.
• MLOps & tooling : Help us to continuously improve our internal tools, pipelines, and infrastructure to accelerate iteration and ensure reliability.
• Demonstrating value : Collaborate with sales and developer relations on case studies, documentation, demos, and technical content.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience solving non-trivial machine learning problems end-to-end — including data collection/simulation, training, evaluation, debugging, and deployment in real systems.
• Strong expertise in audio and speech processing - you understand the quirks, challenges, and beauty of sound. Ideally you have experience in audio sequence-to-sequence modeling and got your hands dirty working on speech enhancement, source separation, speaker diarization, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or similar.
• Expert-level proficiency with PyTorch and its ecosystem as well as familiarity with cloud-based training setups, experiment tracking tools, and modern development practices. You write clean, modular, production-ready code.
• A startup mindset : You’re comfortable with ambiguity, move fast when it matters, take initiative, and focus on building, shipping, and winning customers. Ideally, you have worked in a start-up before or gained experience in a fast-paced, product-centric environment.
