To support our Primary School Student Support Team, we are currently looking for a School Counselor in full-time as a Maternity Cover, starting as soon as possible.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• The role and purpose of the Primary School Counselor is to provide a comprehensive, inclusive counseling program for all children in the Upper Primary School (Grades 4–6), working in close collaboration with staff, families, and the wider school community.

• As a School Counselor, you will deliver a range of services that support student wellbeing, learning, inclusion, and development. This includes individual and small group counseling, offering guidance and support to families, being part of the Student Support Team, working alongside BMS staff, and contributing to both the internal crisis management team and the child protection team, ensuring a coordinated and holistic approach to student care.

• Within your role, you will be responsible for collaborating with other members of staff for the implementation of the whole school transition program. This program aims to support students who are finishing Primary School and moving on to Secondary School at the end of Grade 6, and it reflects the caring and inclusive nature of our school community.

• You are an effective communicator and team player, who enjoys working collaboratively with a team of colleagues to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to student support is being followed.

• Your are a committed, experienced and reliable Counselor, who seeks opportunities to extend expertise and looks for improvement to provide a high quality standard.

• Master’s Degree or higher, in Counselling or Psychology (pedagogical or clinical Psychology).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Cross cultural experience/understanding.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in German and prior experience working as a Counselor within an international school setting are a plus.
