Sandbox Interactive is the ambitious game development studio behind the award-winning game Albion Online. The game is the first true cross-platform MMO, and is playable on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android with more than 350.000 daily players and over 2 million monthly visitors on our website. We started as a small independent group of experienced gaming professionals in 2012, and now employ an international team of more than 100 people. Since 2020, Sandbox Interactive has been part of the Stillfront Group. Your Game

• Create high-quality concept art for stylized game environments, from biomes, to dungeons, unique locations with dense atmosphere and game ready architecture tile sets that align with the project’s art direction

• Develop environment sketches, mood boards, and visual research to support ideation, pre-production, and environmental storytelling

• Translate gameplay, narrative, and level design ideas into clear, production-ready environment designs

• Collaborate closely with level designers, environment artists, and other disciplines to ensure concepts support gameplay and production feasibility

• Follow established art pipelines and workflows and ensure smooth handover of concepts to downstream teams

• Stay up to date with visual trends, genre expectations, and tools relevant to environment concept art

Your Talent

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience creating environment concept art for games, including landscapes, architecture, and props

• Strong understanding of visual development for environments, with a demonstrated ability to establish mood, atmosphere, lighting, and composition

• Excellent art fundamentals including perspective, color theory, scale, lighting, and environmental storytelling

• Proficiency in digital painting tools such as Photoshop or similar concept art software

• Ability to translate gameplay and narrative ideas into clear visual concepts that define the look, mood, and larger setting of an environment

• Effective collaboration and communication skills when working with designers, artists, and production teams

• Solid proficiency in 3D and 2D content creation tools, preferably Maya and Photoshop

• Strong technical understanding of Unity and awareness of performance and optimization

• Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal and written) in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with game engines, preferably Unity

• Familiarity with stylized or fantasy art styles

• Knowledge of mid-poly box-modeling and advanced optimization techniques for multi-platform performance

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on finding creative and efficient solutions

• Good understanding of player experience in MMO and mobile games

• Passion for creating immersive and memorable game worlds
